Procrastination in Crochet!!!!! HELP!?
I have always wanted to crochet an afghan and i always start one and it end up being a scarf or a table runner because for some reason i cant keep my interest on it and i alwyas just stop when i see a new pattern i like better. any help?
LOL, I have the same problem… I tend to crochet scarves and hats, or baby clothes, because I get bored with longer projects 
I think you could use your interest in new patterns to make a great afghan. You could make it using samples in different patterns and colors.
All you need is yarn in matching colors. Start by calculating the size of the afghan and how many equal-sized squares (or hexagons, which also look great) you will need. Then draw a sketch and distribute the pieces with different patterns symmetrically, so that the final result is varied but also harmonious. You can distribute them in rows, diagonals, concentrical circles, etc. Once you know how many you will need, you can crochet them when you feel like it, alternating the patterns.

I’m currently crocheting hexagons for an afghan, hopefully I will finish before summer is here (I’m in the Southern Hemisphere)… what I do is alternate this with other, shorter crochet projects so I don’t get bored.
